Shannon Creek Dam, Shannondale Road, Shannondale is situated west of Coutts Crossing. It was officially opened on Monday 20th July 2009.
The public can now visit the site 4 days a week, Thursday to Sunday, with the gates opening at 9am and closing at 3pm.
Facilities available at the site include BBQ's, picnic tables, bathroom facilities, car parking and a viewing area at the top of the dam wall. Provision has been made for disabled car parking and the majority of the facilities can accommodate wheelchair access.
The prime function of the Shannon Creek Dam is to provide a safe and secure water supply for the community and the measures taken to protect water quality include the following:
* no lighting of fires
* no camping
* no fishing
* no swimming
* no boating
No pets are allowed and there are signs asking people not to feed the native animals.

The Grafton and Maclean, Lawrence, Townsend and Ilarwill (MLTI) Sewerage augmentation includes constructing a new Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Woodford Island, upgrading existing STPs at Clarenza and North Grafton, closing four existing STPs and constructing associated transfer systems. The currently unsewered town of Lawrence will also have reticulated sewerage constructed.

The Concept Design for the Iluka Sewerage Scheme has been completed. The next phase of work is to develop detailed engineering designs that will provide the blueprint for how the scheme will be constructed. Construction is expected to commence in 2009.

The largest single concrete pour of the $80M Grafton and Maclean Sewerage projects was completed today, 15/7/08 by Subcontractor KEP, Contractor Haslin Constructions Pty Ltd under supervision of Department of Commerce.
