Subscribe to E-NEWSClarence Valley Council, through Treelands Drive Community Centre is proud to announce the Third Annual Clarence Valley Seniors Week Writing Competition 2010. We encourage you to put pen to paper or finger tips to key board and enter again in 2010.
This year we have again opened the competition to young Clarence Valley residents (12 - 18 years) along with seniors (55+ years). Like previous years, the competition is open to writers of both poetry (Maximum of 40 lines) and prose (Maximum of 1000 words). Each entrant is limited to two entries per category.
The theme for this year's competition is:
"Come Together .... Stories of Acceptance & Community."
In addition to the theme, entries will also be judged on their relevance to the Seniors Week 2010 objective of celebrating older people and their continuing contribution to family, friends, workplaces and community.
Entry closing date is Friday 19 February 2010, although entries can be submitted at any time prior to that date. An entry form and guidelines are available at Treelands Drive Community Centre, from your local library or download below.
Winners of the competition will be announced at a special Awards Night function at Treelands Drive Community Centre on Friday 19 March 2010.
