On Saturday September 4, 2020, 128 local councils in NSW will hold elections. This briefing will help anyone interested in becoming a Councillor gain a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities of an elected member of Council.

  • Challenges of the role and how to meet them

  • Importance of speaking out on key issues and how to do this confidently

  • Support available including information and networks
  • Introduction to local government jargon and what it means
  • Putting it together: making the commitment
