Depot and Administration Plans and Budget as part of Council's building rationalisation are now on display and available as public documents (refer Item 14.087/14 - October)
Moves to consolidate the Clarence Valley Council's five Grafton area work depots into one purpose-built site have taken their first formal step.
Council has adopted conceptual master plans that would result in the eventual closure of depots in Grafton, South Grafton, Koolkhan and its weeds and floodplain services depots with one facility near the intersection of Skinner Street (Rushforth Road) and Tyson Street in South Grafton - the site of the former sewerage treatment plan.
Plans have also been drawn up with a view to consolidating Council's administration buildings into the one at 2 Prince Street since the library has now been relocated into new premises in Pound Street after receiving $8 million in grant funding from the federal government. The void left by the former library area will become the Council Chamber with the remaining building space being open plan offices.
