South Grafton cemeteries
South Grafton Cemeteries can be located on the hill in Bent Street South Grafton. No new internments are to occur at these cemeteries except in situations where a plot has been previously reserved.

Corner Bent & Tyson Streets

The South Grafton cemetery is located on a rise at the corner of Tyson & Bent Street. From the cemetery there are expansive views to the north and east. A small timber and tiled porch faces Bent Street and there are no fences. A large portion of graves are surrounded by wrought iron fences and there are numerous sandstone headstones. Many of the headstones have biographical information which tell about the Irish, Scottish, English and German migrants who settles the area.
The cemetery is based on a number of religious portions as follows:-
- Roman Catholic portion
- Church of England Portion
- Presbyterian Portion
- Methodist
- Baptist Portion
- Jewish Portion
- Unallocated Portion
Except where excavation is possible, double depth graves will not be excavated due to shoring requirements and Occupational Health & Safety Concerns.
Any new, replacement or improvements of monuments are to be completed at the full cost of the family. Council takes no responsibility for the maintenance and repair of monuments.
