It is with great sadness that all Councillors and staff of Clarence Valley Council received news that Councillor Joy Mathews passed away on 1 June 2006, following a long battle with illness. Her position as a member of Clarence Valley Council is presently vacant, with a by-election to be arranged by the State Electoral Office before 1 September.
The eulogy delivered by the Mayor at her funeral neatly sums up the feelings of the community, councillors and staff. Please click here for access to the address. Vale Joy Mathews.
