The purpose of this policy is to acknowledge the contribution to responsible pet ownership provided by poultry clubs, bird breeders associations and similar groups in our community.
To give guidance and advice to persons inquiring as to the minimum standards for the keeping of certain animals for domestic purposes.
To reduce the incidents of nuisance to others caused by domestic animals.
To publicly notify the matters that the Council will consider in determining whether or not to commence action to prohibit, restrict, or in some other way, require things to be done regarding keeping animals for domestic purposes.
To assist in reducing the impact of domestic animals on native fauna and their habitat.
