From 11 October are working towards an easing of COVID restrictions. Density limits apply to all settings, check-in and masks are mandatory indoors in council venues and facilities, including our customer service centres.Some services will only be open to fully vaccinated people, including libraries, museums, galleries Treelands Drive Community Centre and the Environment Learning Facility.
Hornick Constructions start work on Monday 18 October building a new 1.7 megalitre drinking water reservoir on the site of the old reservoir in High Street, Lawrence.
Hornick Constructions, a Brisbane based reservoir construction company, were awarded the tender in June this year however have not been able to physically access the site due to COVID border restrictions until now.
The new reservoir will take around 5 months to construct and when completed the Community of Lawrence will have a reliable and safe back up water supply.
The reservoir will be 16m high, almost 13m wide and constructed from locally sourced concrete. Council is ensuring that other local suppliers will also be used during the project, where possible.
