Grant funding is offered on a rotational basis in the valley. Council also offers a free heritage advisory service on proposed maintenance, restoration, and new works.

Council has many heritage items which tell a story of early settlement, the development of agriculture, timber and fishing, industry, government, education, leisure, tourism and the arts.

Consent requirements

Maintenance and work of a minor nature can be permitted without a formal application.
