Start of Roundabout Construction at Carrs and Shores Drives

Roundabout construction
 

Three roundabouts are being constructed on Yamba Road - Treelands Drive,  Carrs Drive & Shores Drive intersections.  These projects are funded by NSW Government.  

SEE Civil Pty Ltd has been appointed by us to construct the project.  Works will begin in late August 2020 and continue until mid 2021.

Project works on Yamba Road will include:

  • Treelands Drive intersection roundabout - Completed in November 2020
  • Carrs Drive intersection roundabout – Construction period November 2020 -  March 2021
  • Shores Drive intersection roundabout - Contruction period January - July 2021 (see below)

Update February 2021

  • Carrs Drive - Stage 3 nearing completion
  • Shores Drive - Stage 2 construction continues
  • Treelands Drive is complete

Whats Happening
Work started in early November and be finished by March 2021.

Finishes stages of construction are underway
 
  • Mon 22 March 7pm - 9pm approx.  Night works for electrical connections
Pedestrians should follow signage to ensure they keep clear of construction works. 


Shores Drive Roundabout
 

What’s happening?
  • A third roundabout has been funded by the NSW Government on Yamba Road and Shores Drive
  • Works will begin early 2021 and will continue until mid July 2021
  • The construction of a southern approach will give us the option to link into a future road network
Traffic changes:
  • Stage 2 of the construction
  • Shores Drive will be closed until June
  • Yamba Road will remain two way during construction.
  • Every effort will be made to minimise impacts where possible.
Public transport:
  • All bus stops will remain active in the area. Click here to plan your journey.
Construction Works 
Construction activities will include: 
  • Reducing speed limits to 40 km/h on Yamba Road next to the construction zone for the duration of the works.
  • Installation of bollards and barrier boards on Yamba Road to separate work areas from traffic. 
  • Removal of existing lines on Yamba Road.
  • Temporary line marking
  • Service location works 
During construction: 
  • Residents near the work zone may experience increased noise, dust and vibration 
  • Movement of large construction equipment and machinery
  • Vehicles and machinery fitted with flashing lights and reversing beepers for safety reasons 
  • Construction traffic entering and exiting work areas and site offices 
  • Some temporary and permanent changes to property access. These will be communicated with residents ahead of any changes being made 
  • Motorists can expect reduced speed limits and increased congestion.
What should you do?
  • Plan ahead and allow extra time
Every effort will be made to minimise construction impacts where possible.
Standard work hours will be Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm.
From time to time, work outside of these times may be required for safety reasons or in case of an emergency.
