Coastal zone management plans (CZMP), formerly known as coastline and estuary management plans
Council prepares coastal zone management plans (CZMP), formerly known as coastline and estuary management plans, in accordance with the Coastal Protection Act 1979 and relevant NSW Government guidelines. This process is overseen by the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage (Regional Operations Group). General information on coastal zone management plans and coastal management in NSW can be found at OEH’s ‘Coasts and Floodplains’ webpage at www.environment.nsw.gov.au
Copies of adopted CZMPs (or equivalent coastline or estuary plans) and background/draft reports for CZMPs in progress within the Clarence Valley Local Government Area are provided on this website. CZMPs have been prepared for specific localities or estuary systems and information can be accessed by clicking the relevant locality link from the list below. If you cannot find a Plan for an area of coastline or estuary of interest then contact Council's Environmental Planning Coordinator, Scott Lenton, on (02) 6643 0234.
