The former Council's of the Clarence Valley adopted this Plan in 2003.
This plan was the first of its type for the Clarence River estuary. It was adopted by the former Council's of the Clarence Valley in 2003. The aim of the Clarence Estuary Management Plan is:
"To achieve a healthy, productive and attractive Clarence estuary where resources are used on a sustainable basis in harmony with environmental values, community and visitor needs."
Adopted Actions have been implemented since 2003 and many administrative actions have been made redundant when Clarence Valley Council was proclaimed in February 2004. An audit of adopted actions and responsibility for implementation of outstanding actions has commenced.
