Internationally renowned country music stars 'The McClymonts' are this years Clarence Valley Ambassadors.
Brooke, Sam and Mollie McClymont are born and bred Clarence Valley girls. Growing up in Grafton, the sisters started writing and playing music from their house on Villiers Street, usually recording themselves singing into a cassette recorder with favorite topics covering school, boys and family. When they weren’t singing, they were living the classic country-town outdoor life of sport, community events, music and family.
The sisters are proud to receive the Clarence Valley Ambassador Award ‘We are proud Clarence Valley people’ said Sam. ‘Grafton had and still has such an amazing community spirit that we see at the Jacaranda Festival and races every year’
‘Grafton is our home town and always will be, it’s a beautiful and humbling place to call home’ said Mollie.
The sisters made their first EP in 2006 which led to them going on tour with superstar Lee Kernaghan and its been a tale of success ever since with four albums and tours throughout Australia and the USA.
The McClymont’s have won countless awards, highlighted by two ARIA award wins for Country Album of the year, an APRA Award in 2013, 10 Golden Guitar Awards and celebrating over one year in the ARIA charts for their recent album “Here’s to you & I”.
Clarence Valley Council congratulates The McClymonts and is proud to honor them with the 2016 Clarence Valley Ambassador Award.
