The Valley’s favourite eco-warrior dirtgirl has teamed up yet again with Clarence Valley Council and Grafton Shoppingworld to announce a new initiative on reducing reliance on single use plastic! The campaign accompanies the 1 July deadline of phasing out single use plastic bags from our major national retailers Woolworths, Coles, Big W and Target. From 1 July customers will no longer be offered free plastic bags to carry their purchases but will be prompted to bring their own reusable bags or purchase their own when they shop.
dirtgirl’s 21 DAY PLASTIC BAG DETOX will be launched at Grafton Shoppingworld on World Environment Day, Tuesday 5 June with a green carpet event! You are invited to join dirtgirl between 11am-1pm or 3pm-5pm for fashion and fun! Bring along your funkiest reusable shopping bag and model with dirtgirl on the green carpet or join in one of our fun workshops including making beeswax lunch wrappers and bag decorating.
When you sign up to the detox, you will receive an email each day for 21 days with innovative and useful ways to REDUCE PLASTIC USAGE in your own home, plus there will be giveaways and prizes from dirtgirl herself for being part of the detox! Grafton Shoppingworld are very happy to support DIRT GIRL’S 21 DAY DETOX and will be offering a FREE reusable shopping bag to all customers who sign up to the Detox Program on Tuesday 5 June.
There are so many ways that we can all start the reduction of plastic in our daily lives and saying no to single use plastic bags is the first step. Saying no to single-use plastic straws, plastic lunch wrap and take-away coffee cups is the next! Never fear, dirtgirl is here to help.
