Mayoral Condolences

Clarence Valley Council Mayor, Cr Peter Johnstone has extended his deepest sympathies on behalf of the Clarence Valley towards the family and friends of a 24-year-old man who drowned after being swept out to sea while wading in the shallows at Pippi Beach in Yamba.

Cr Johnstone said the Councillors and staff of Clarence Valley Council were deeply saddened by the news, and that Council and the community wished to express their condolences to all who have been affected by this tragic event.

“It’s a very sad and challenging time for all those involved in this incident, and our thoughts are also with the first responders, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Crew and the local Lifesavers, Emergency Services, Police and Ambulance personnel who conducted the search and attended the scene.”
