Council is responsible for routinely inspecting food businesses to ensure they are maintaining compliance with the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code and Food Act 2003.
All non-fixed food premises are required to be notified with Council and must sell safe and suitable food in accordance with the provisions of the NSW Food Act 2003, Food Regulation 2015, Food Standards Code and Clarence Valley Council’s ‘Mobile Food Vehicles, Temporary Food Stalls and Hawking’ Policy.
