A grassy coastal headland offering spectacular 180 degree coastal views. Vehicle access and parking is via Pilot Street, pedestrian access is via Pilot Street, and also links to Harbour and Queen Streets.
With its important maritime links, elevation above the town and varied history, the reserve that makes up Pilot Hill is managed by a several different authorities. Council manages to sections of the reserve, one being the area next the car parking off Pilot Street that overlooks Main Beach, the other being the Turners Beach lookout area. The Water Tank, Lighthouse, Residences are managed by Department of Primary Industries - Lands (1300 886 235).
Pilot Hill is an Alcohol Prohibited Area 9pm – 9am.
