The basketball courts (2) at JJ Lawrence Fields are heavily used by the community playing basketball, toddlers riding bikes and youth playing other ball sports.
Previously, the courts were in a very poor condition, having trip hazards, sharp edges, uneven surfaces and present a risk to users.
The project will replace the courts with a new basketball and a multi-purpose court and construct new supporting infrastructure to ensure public safety, inclusivity, activate the open space and provide an area for families to gather to enjoy active recreation.
The project was fully funded by the NSW Government Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF).
