Council management and structure

Clarence Valley Council (CVC) was proclaimed on February 25, 2004, co-joining the former general purpose councils of Copmanhurst, Grafton, Maclean and Pristine Waters, plus the activities of North Coast Water and Clarence River County Council.

On August 15, 2017 the council adopted a new executive level structure.

Clarence Valley Council delegations

The Local Government Act, at section 377, provides for Council to make delegations to the General Manager to assist in their responsibility to manage the day to day affairs of the Council. In turn, the General Manager may then make further delegations to individual staff to assist in the efficient and effective administration of Council.
