Clarence Valley Council's Tourism brand, "My Clarence Valley", has surpassed 50,000 social media followers, with the busiest period of the year for tourism in Grafton and the hinterland just around the corner.

The Tourism division of Clarence Valley Council shares spectacular imagery of the region to nationwide audiences on Instagram and Facebook, and communicates directly with new and returning visitors eager to taste what the Clarence Valley has to offer.

@MyClarenceValley now has more than 37,000 followers on Facebook and 13,000 on Instagram. Meanwhile, in the 2022/23 financial year, the accounts had more than 11 million impressions and total audience reach exceeded 2.6 million users, up from 1.7 million in 2021/22.

"My Clarence Valley as a brand has grown to where it is today because of the level of interaction we have with our past, present and future visitors," Clarence Valley Council Acting Industry Engagement Officer Katee Blizzard said.

"Ultimately, My Clarence Valley is built on the moments and memories shared by our visitors. Without their engagement through tagging us @MyClarenceValley or #MyClarenceValley in photos, sharing our posts, and commenting with their own special memories of our region, we wouldn't be where we are today."

@MyClarenceValley's social media engagement is expected to experience another spike soon, with the Jacaranda Season only a month away.

"It's the most exciting time of the year for the Tourism team," Ms Blizzard said. "During Jacaranda Season, we welcome thousands of visitors through the Visitor Information Centre, located at Grafton Regional Gallery, who come to enjoy the season.

"But be on the lookout for the My Clarence Valley team out and about throughout the season as they have some fun activations planned to help you capture your #MyClarenceValley Moments."

It's not just visitors who benefit from My Clarence Valley's services. Local businesses are encouraged to take advantage of our Tourism brand by tagging @MyClarenceValley in their own social posts. They are also encouraged to stock up on our variety of brochures, which can be done at www.myclarencevalley.com/brochure-order-form/

"This is a great time for local businesses to ramp up their marketing and show visitors and locals alike what they have to offer," Ms Blizzard said. "My Clarence Valley is here to help amplify your message, so please keep us in the loop of any specials that you want our audience to know about.

"Especially during the busy seasons, we encourage local businesses to consider weekend trading to support the needs of our visitors looking to spend their money locally. During Jacaranda Season in particular, we have a great opportunity to showcase your business with thousands of visitors coming to the area between 20 October and 10 November.

"Please reach out to the team via email or call 02 6643 0800 if you have anything special happening during Jacaranda that we can help promote, or if you need to stock up on My Clarence Valley brochures."
