Youth week

17 events over 10 days across the Clarence Valley in Yamba, Iluka, Grafton, Lawrence, Ulmarra, Dundurrabin, Maclean, Minnie Water, Coutts Crossing, Glenreagh, Woombah and South Grafton.

Council’s Community Development Team has been able to coordinate an exciting program in partnership with 20 local services and community groups to celebrate our local young people for the annual statewide Youth Week Celebrations.

“Our Youth Week just keeps getting bigger with youth and community engagement at an all-time high during last year's celebrations.”

“Last year we had over 1400 young people and community come out and participate in the fun and we hope to see the same support this year.”

Clarence Valley Youth Week kicks off on 11 April,at Grafton TAFE for an inclusive and exciting event, Your Future Fest! Your Future Fest is a collaboration between various local stakeholders and is open to all young people aged 15-25, regardless of whether you're enrolled in school. Whether you're a student, a job seeker, or someone looking to explore different educational pathways, this event is for you. Discover various career options, connect with representatives from universities and educational institutions, and gain valuable advice on planning your future. You can even get information about working for Clarence Valley Council and opportunities for career pathways.

Youth Week highlights include Live ‘N’ Loud at the Grafton Library; Basketball Tournament in South Grafton; Wadyarr Youth Day in Iluka; Art in the Park at Grafton; Changing Lanes Monthly Car Meet at the Grafton Library; Community Cultural Connections Day in Lawrence and the Colour Fun Run in South Grafton.

This year, we are thrilled to be running an Outdoor Cinema in Maclean that will feature the Stan original film ‘Windcatcher’ in which one of our extremely talented young people Lennox Monaghan is taking over the Big-Screen. Come along to this FREE community screening, bring a blanket or a chair and watch this talented young person shine.

The theme for this year's Youth Week is Express. Empower. Get loud! which encourages youth across NSW to be themselves, stand up to have their voices heard on issues and get loud and celebrate together during Youth Week.

Youth Week 2024 crosses over with the seasonal School Holiday Program where there are more activities happening across the community – for more information on this program go to our Clarence Valley Youth Facebook page.

For more information on the different events visit Clarence Valley Youth on Facebook or call Allira Newton on 0428 420 908.
