Funding helps combat Tropical Soda Apple

Our biosecurity weed teams have been working along the beautiful creeks and rivers of the Clarence Valley to complete a project tackling the persistent weed, Tropical Soda Apple (Solanum viarum).
Dubbed the weed from hell, Tropical Soda Apple is a prickly, thicket forming nightmare for landowners. It is critical that we make inroads into controlling this weed before it becomes more widespread.
This project was funded in partnership with North Coast Local Lands Services who provided $91,000 to control infestations. It has been pivotal in preventing the further spread of Tropical Soda Apple.
With additional funding from North Coast Local Lands Services, we continue to assist fire-affected landholders to tackle some of the worst weeds in bushfire affected communities.
