Newly elected Clarence Valley Mayor Peter Johnstone is urging the community to get behind Council's decision to proceed with two major facility redevelopments. The new Regional Aquatic Centre and Yamba Community Precinct projects were given the green light in a vote by councillors at Tuesday’s meeting of Clarence Valley Council. Mayor Johnstone said as a result, the new Regional Aquatic Centre in Grafton was anticipated to be completed by next summer, and Council would be able to retain the $11 million in grant funding allocated to the Yamba Community Precinct. "There has been a difference of opinion over the best way to complete these projects, but Council has now decided on the best approach to take and it is now time to move forward," he said.
