This Policy has been updated to align with the Office of Local Government's Model Social Policy with some updates based on feedback from Councillors. Track changes were unable to be placed in the document as the model policy was used for the update.
Updates include:
- moving from the 'General Manager' model to the 'Social Media' model where the Social Media Coordinator (SMC) is a member/s of staff appointed by the General Manager. Updates in the policy from General Manager and/or delegate have been updated to SMC have not been track changed
- removing Part 3 – Administrative framework for councillors' social media platform as this policy only related to council staff and contractors employed by Council. Councillors should note the following guidelines: Social media recordkeeping for Councillors
- removing all reference to Councillors and updating the definition of council official to only include a member/s of staff and/or contactors of the council
