The new Grafton Aquatic Centre is envisioned as an inclusive, contemporary aquatic facility with a variety of water spaces and support facilities to service the needs of the local community.

What's happening?

Stage 1 will see:

  • a new 50m 8 lane outdoor pool and grandstand
  • a new 25m heated pool to FINA standards
  • a new beach entry heated program pool
  • additional amenities
  • additional shade and recreational space

Stage 2 (to be completed under future funding arrangements - pink areas on the image) will see:

  • 2 waterslides
  • an all-ability splash pad
  • dive pool
  • plus a refurbishment of the existing building.

What are the benefits?

The deteriorating asset will be renewed, reducing on going maintenance costs.
The facility will be able to host regional level competitions in the 50m pool.
The 25m pool will be to FINA standards.
Sections of the facilities will be open year-round.
The facility will include all-ability access where possible.
Additional storage will be available.
Energy efficient options have been included in the design.

Who is involved?

Council is currently working with the lead designer, Facility Design Group to progress the detailed design. We will continue to look for suitable funding sources to deliver the project.
