Council Emissions Reduction Strategy

In 2018, the Clarence Valley Council Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction and Renewable Energy Targets was developed to baseline the council’s energy demands, greenhouse gas emissions and evaluate energy efficiency and renewable energy opportunities.

A summary of the key insights from the Strategy including emissions baseline and recommended actions is presented below.

Emissions Monitoring

To measure the greenhouse gas emissions for the Clarence Valley Council operations an in-depth analysis of all council owned, and operated assets is required.

The Clarence Valley Council Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction and Renewable Energy Targets report conducted such analysis and baselines the energy use and greenhouse gas emissions for council operations 2016-17, shown tabulated and repeated graphically below:
