Open access information

Under both the GIPA Act (2009) and the GIPA Regulation (2018) a range of information about Council and its activities must be open access and freely available (please see below). Where open access information is not available on the website (eg detailed documents for Development Applications [DAs]), it is available on request at our offices at 2 Prince Street, Grafton and 50 River Street, Maclean or by email to council@clarence.nsw.gov.au. If hard copies of this information are required, a photocopying charge will apply for cost recovery.

Under Section 6(5) of the GIPA Act, Council is required to provide a record of open access information (if any) that it does not make publicly available.

Open access information not released - under section 6(5) of the Government Information (Public Access) Act council must keep a record of the open access information (if any) that it does not make publicly available on the basis of an overriding public interest against disclosure. The record is to indicate only the general nature of the information concerned.
